SOULHAVEN Real Estate LLC is a privately owned company, operating under Douglas Elliman Real Estate.  This is my blog.

President and founder Robert Mobley is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson at Douglas Elliman Real Estate with offices in NYC, Greenwich, Boston, and Beverly Hills. And as a resident and property owner in Greenwich Village, Los Angeles and presently in the historic Silvermine area of Connecticut, Robert brings seasoned neighborhood knowledge to clients in all four luxury market. He also currently works in the entertainment business as a professional actor and musician. This has been his life and real estate is an extension of that sense of creativity, and need to find your place in the world.

Some might wonder, why Soulhaven?  We’ll it’s a name I coined that best signifies the importance your home plays in your creativity and total well being.

Oxford dictionary defines soul and haven as:

soul
/sōl/
noun
  1. 1.
the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as immortal.
  2. 2.
emotional or intellectual energy or intensity, especially as revealed in a work of art or an artistic performance.
    “their interpretation lacked soul”
haven
/ˈhāvən/
noun
  1. a place of safety or refuge.
    “a haven for wildlife”

At the time I began my company, I realized my entire I life I’ve been constantly searching for a safe place to create my art. A place with a good vibe that has Soul. This is what motivates me to provide the best in service in successfully helping my clients find that same sense of creative well-being.

Growing up in Virginia, I always had a strong sense of wanderlust.  I couldn’t wait to get out and see the world so I left home at the early age of 17. First to study music in Boston, then onto  Charlotte NC after getting the bass spot for R&B legend Maurice Williams, Zodiacs.  What came next was moving to NYC in the heady 80’s where my musical journey afforded me the opportunity to play in many bands and venues such as the famed CBGB’s. Being discovered at one of these venues by a casting director led to decades of commercial work as an actor in both NYC and Los Angeles. And now once again I find myself living in community of the artists in Slivermine, CT.

So having my own Soulhaven has always been a priority, and a keen desire to live in a home where one can live and express your greatest creation, “A life well lived”.

Soulhaven is also a state of mind and a feeling when one finds that perfect room with a view, or studio space with the perfect acoustics that inspires you to write a song, screenplay, or book. Or  space to simply stretch out and revitalize your sprit. And when inspiration strikes to make you want to kick off your shoes and dance like no ones looking. This is what inspires me most of all about real estate.  To be in a position to help others find the same.

My art and my home are intrinsically linked. We all have the desire to create. It’s part of the human experience we all share. This blog is a celebration for all things creative and to help find your Soulhaven in the world.

I hope you enjoy my blog.  And If you do, please like and share it with your friends

All the best,

Robert
